Reviews of Garmin NUVI 1300

To be honest, the reason why I prefer Garmin NUVI 1300 than Garmin NUVI 255 is that the outlook of Garmin NUVI 1300 is much beautiful the Garmin NUVI 255. In details, the former one seems slimmer and shapely with a dimension of 12.1 x 7.6 x 1.5 cm, while the latter one is 9.7 x 7.1 x 2 cm. from the figures we can easily find the 1300 is much thinner and wider, while the 255 looks hulking. Moreover, the display of the former model is much wider with a size of 9.7 x 5.7 cm, and the solution is much better whose pixels up to 480 x 272 to offer me a clear and bright interface for watching the pictures and notices on the machine during my travel.

In addition to the outer performance, the inner configuration of 1300 is also powerful with complete functions. First and foremost, the navigate city transit can make it a desirable travel assistant especially for getting around small locations such as villages, countries with the help of the optional CityXplorer content. After downloading the software, you can have a clear idea of where you are, how to get the terminal place such as hotel, restaurant and bus stop as well. Up to now, the CityXplorer maps can be available to choose cities throughout North America and Europe. Secondly, the machine can offer you an economical and time-saving route for walking so that you can save your fuel and time. From this perspective, it can be said that the 1300 is more than a single navigation. The ecoRoute is advantaged in calculating the most desirable route for it including many travel tools such as picture viewers with 3D HD display, world travel clock, currency converter and so on. Many of the people may think that the GPS navigation can be only used by fitting in the car, while as a matter of fact, the Garmin 1300 is a portable navigation which you can put it in your bag or pocket if you have no car or other vehicles. Based on this feature, it can be acceptable for majority without considering cars. To be continued, the Garmin 1300 intuitive interface greet you with the questions of “where to” and “view map”. As a result, you can touch the color screen to find out the place you are and you want to go. In case of unable to see the machine, the Garmin 1300 can promote you according to the built-in loudspeaker with preset smart voices. And honestly speaking, the voice sound great and just like a real man.

Some of you may query about the battery life, it is true that the working time of the battery only has four hours while the 255 is five. However, in my opinion, the comprehensive performance should be considered rather than a small aspect which can be neglected. Here I strongly recommend the Garmin NUVI 1300.

The touchscreen works great, the sound is good and I was happy with it’s overall performance. Here’s a huge warning!!! Make sure you read the instructions with your unit and follow them. DO NOT REGISTER OVER THE PHONE!!!! There is a note that if you Register over the phone and/or if you DO NOT Register within 60 days of your first use, then you will lose your lifetime map updates!!!!! I personally thought that was sneaky and underhanded, if I wasn’t so anal as to read the instruction booklet I could’ve screwed myself out of the lifetime map feature and that was one element that was very important to me since I use the Garmin for my job every day. I love the fact that this unit speaks the street names, it’s a very helpful feature.
